Entries Are Being Delivered

Ok, so if you haven't heard then you CAN'T be a fan of Shiver and Fears because that contest that I have been telling you about, that happens every year, has started. We already have kids drawing monsters right now.

Now, I can't tell you how many people tell me how they can't draw or whatever. Well, some time before, the monster drawing contest was a photo editing contest. During the first contest, there was an app where you could take a picture and add moster addings to it. Well strangely, that feature disappeared. It was a year afterwards when an app was discovered to make scary faces from photo images.

At some point it was noted as too scary for kids—Only from the parents, anyway. So after some time we tried a new method where monsters weren't scary, but friendly. Sad part was, there wasn't an area for kids to create monsters cretures... So, we made one!

This game  was created for kids to create monster figures. But this feature had not been made in time for it to work. So, the drawing contest would have to do until then. Now the game is all set. Here's an example of it now:

Now, yearly we get dones of voters, but we don't get a lot of entries trying out this game. Now, don't get me wrong. We want kids to draw their monsters, but we want to include those who can't draw BUT we won't allow that to be the reason why they won't enter.
Those of you who are reading this blog should really try and enter this contest. It's fun! If you haven't already check it out HERE
As of now we want to inform as many kids as possible to enter in this contest. Rumor has it, we even have an adult entering as well! So don't be draw draw a monster... or just create it.

Hidden From Social Media

So, I'm sure you've heard about that Powerpuff Girl live-action movie being canned a few years ago. But can you believe no one wants you to know about this disaster? Not only are they trying to mop up their mistake and ignore it, they won't let people see it.
Where do I get this idea from? Easy, because the day that it got leaked, I watched the trailer and the second I wanted to share the news... IT WAS GONE!
People were talking about it, but no one could show the trailer. Not even segments of it. Everywhere I tried posting it, it was cast as copyright and was not allowed to be shared!
Crazy! Well, what I have here is the trailer of that failed project...
Question lies to thousands of people why this idea was scraped. The answer? Because the audience were not pleased of the idea of making 3 kind children into destructive adults. Catch this: Bubbles, our sweet, innocent heart throb, is supposed to be a wannabe diva who apparently drinks and lives a wild life.

Blossom our fearless, smart leader can't get her life together. Now we don't know much about what's going on in her mind, but apparently she has been slacking in her duties and has ran away because of it.

Buttercup the tomboy, the girl with a tude, is a rebel? She's against all things that girls stand for, not only as being simple and sweet and 'soft', but also as a general girl. Almost as if Buttercup doesn't like the idea of being a girl.

Now I'm sure there are some other things that you have to say about this movie idea, but one thing I was not pleased with was how this whole idea was focused on... us!

You see, I like my cartoons the way they always were, zaney, funny, and childish. What this movie is doing is having our childhood grow up with us! I don't know about you, but I don't want my childhood to grow up, if you know what I mean.

How would you like it if  Scooby Doo were a police crew instead and solved murders instead? What would it be like if Rugrats were smoking and drinking while suffering from divorce and family matters? Would you want to watch Jimmy Neutron working giving up inventing stuff because they don't pay the bills?

Point is, even if these characters do grow up, they shouldn't be living a "real" life. With "real" problems and "real" difficulties.

If I were in charge of the movie plot. The Powerpuff Girls would move out of Townsville and join an agency. Then have their next mission be in Townville where they learn that after the mysterious disappearance of Mojo Jojo he has returned with a plot to cause a downfall on the girls' agency. The girls blame each other for their fail attempt and leave Blossom to finish the mission.

That's all I got so far, but if you have an idea, comment below!

The Haunted Cell Phone Blooper and Cast Interview

Now that the video is FINALLY published for youtube, it's time to look at what happens behind the scene. Meet the cast and how humble they can be being in a Shiver and Fear original! What kind of fun did these teens have while skiing over the spring break?
Well you might find out just by watching the video. Recording this adventure was not easy. It was only a 4 day trip and the skiing didn't start until day 2. Not to mention with all the pre-scheduled event for the trip squeezing in filming time was difficult. But what was hard after getting home?
Well, crazy story. So Isaac Grave (a.k.a.) Jeff Davis was only available on Sunday. Which, if you don't know, that's church time. I was a part of the church choir and Isaac had to leave first thing afterwards. So the only time to film was DURING church time. But things kept getting in the way. Isaac would show up late, I would have other responibilities at the church, or even we had other plans.
What was even more challenging was getting to interview the cast. If you notice not everyone got the same questions. There's another story.
Just know, me and the cast all come together at different days of the week. Some show up on Sundays, some on Wednesdays. But we are always together at the church.

Loud and Proud in the Parade

Today was fantastic. Here I was watching the annual MLK parade in OKC. This year was differnt than all the others. Because of Covid 19 the parade had been sent viral.

As most of you may know I was a part of the parade back in 2020. This year I wasn't so sure if I'd make it. The first part of the parade was special sponsors who made their announcements and speeches about the whole parade. (Kinda like how they start a football game) Then the real parade began. Dozens of vendor sang, presented their work, and spoke. As this was happening I was sending the live video to all the fans and friends I know.

I couldn't miss a second of the parade because I wasn't sure if I had made it or not. As I started to comment and sponsor myself I heard a familiar noise. Click here for what it was.

Over 300 people were watching that parade and over 300 people comment how much they enjoyed each sponsor and vendor. Question is, how many of those people were my fans? I would like to think about a quarter of that crowd was for me. It's a special privilege to be a part of an event where we can all come together, whether it be Christmas or Martin Luther King!

Word from Cory

People are starting to really get into Shiver and Fears a lot more this year. Fans are growing on Twitter, and people around the world are fascinated with Shiver and Fears and the thousand videos and pictures posted. There was one fan that wowed me the most.
I was at work, coaching the tennis team, when I had received a message on my phone. From who you may ask? Cory! Now some are reading this blog and thinking "Oh cool, a fan named Cory gave you a message. But, what if I told you this was no ordinary Cory. This was Cory Baxter, also known as Kyle Massey! This is what he had to say:

For those of you who might now reconize this man, this is Cory Baxter from That's So Raven and Cory in the House! He's a real fan of Shiver and Fears, his favorite is Ghost of Future Me. I was so amazed getting this message I decided to add Cory Baxter to a Shiver and Fears book.Image result for cory baxter GIFI'm sure he'll like it, and I bet you will too!
P.S. What is your favorite Shiver and Fears book?

The Growth Begins

AJ Hard is back in the BLOG! But not for Shiver and Fears. Although, it is obvious people want Shiver and Fears back. So they might reboot next year.
Now back to the real reason for this blog. The new series, Magical Times, is making a big appearance this year. Not only is the hard-back cover version published, but we're also making a video based off the book.

You don't have to be a pro to be in the video. And we have a lot of open parts:
  • The Dad: A hard working man as a teacher, tutor, coach, and children program volunteer
  • The Mom: A nurse at a nursing home.
  • A.J. Hardwick: C.J.'s twin brother A teenage with a "cool factor" has the power to cast his own spells
  • C.J. Hardwick: A.J.'s twin brother with the "smart factors" has the power the see the future
  • Brittnie Hardwick: twin's little sister. Shy, but independent has the power to lift things with her mind
  • Steve (voice): The talking pet dog, trainer for twins
  • Aunt: a "negative nancy", pushy and demanding, lazy/ self observes with likes, and thoughts
  • Uncle: a free thinker, rap lover, agreeable listener, interested in cars
  • Skylar: Male cousin, video game lover, sports fan kind and conversational
  • Carson: Female cousin, selfish careless, dancer, and tv hog
  • Great Grandma/ Great Aunt:  twin angles of heaven, kind hearted, stern but fair.
  • Grand Pap: Lazy, always complaining, loud chatter, insults as joke
  • Granny: Christian by heart, loves family, involves herself in everything, not a magic fan
  • Ian Alexander: Jerk next door, enemy of the twins, not very smart
yep, that's a lot of open positions. Now this video is about a African American family all living in the same giant house owned by the dad. His kids all have magic powers which were given to them by their great grandma and her twin sister for being the next generation of twins in the family. A.J. must learn how to create spells that work perfectly for certain situation and C.J. learning how to control his visions.
