Is the code working?

QR codes are complicated. Right now, I had to create and send a new QR Code invitation to everyone. The other one was expired. Now I've sent this code to dozens of people, and only a few answered and were able to see the invitation.
The Bookaversary! Oh snap, I almost forget to mention the most important thing! We will have gift bags, but we'll only have a total of 40. So our first 40 guests will recieve a giftbag, while guest number 41 (whoever that will be) will sign the card, and enter in the drawing contest- no, not like art drawing!
Each guest who wish to enter in the give-a-way with write down their name and email. then on Bookaversary day, I'll announce the winners on Youtube, and email them to send an address to give the gift to.
Each winner (only 2 winners) will get a hand print of a Shiver and Fears book and a shirt. Woo! I'm tired just from thinking about all that. Another thing I'm working on is getting the two Monsterfied winners to show up.
With our unmasked creature be present? We'll see.
Until then, scan that code and comment if it works.

Bookaversary Set up

It is now June. That means it's time for setup. The bookaversary is in July and invites are being delivered by email this year.
Last year went very well. So well, it has been decided to be the traditional way of Shiver and Fears. This year, the event will be held at the library. The same library that has watched me grow through the years.
It pays to grow with connections.
Meanwhile things are being put together now. As of now, keychains are being printed, ebook codes have been laminated, and slap bracelets are being delivered soon. But still, gift bags need to be bought, and our monsters still need a talking to- hoping they can make an appearance for the fans.

Not to forget this year there will be a Shiver and Fears sweepstakes. Are you coming to the bookaversary? It's only half-way ready. But if you want to come, just ask for your QR code. My team and I hope to see you there!

Could Shiver and Fears be the Next Goosebumps?

No one believes me when I say that Shiver and Fears short films are better than Goosebumps. Why do I say that? Well So far Shiver and Fears has published 3 Short film based on Shiver and Fears, views for those videos have grown slowly as time passes. About a month or so ago I posted an episode of Goosebumps on youtube, I shared it to dozens of Goosebumps fans, but numbers have not grown.

Now you might be thinking that maybe my videos are getting a lot of views even with 300 subscribers involved, but here's the thing. Other videos have beaten the Goosebumps videos such as "Theme Song Take Over", "Happy Birthday Remix" and "Love Mistake" Now it is true some of those videos have been around longer than Goosebumps and some have gotten shared to a group of people.

But the thing is, when you share Goosebumps to social media, tagging Goosebumps fanatics you would expect a big crowd of satisfied people. Are you a Goosebumps fan? Let's see what you do. Maybe there's a reason why they have fewer views. If so, leave a comment below!

The Haunted Cell Phone Blooper and Cast Interview

Now that the video is FINALLY published for youtube, it's time to look at what happens behind the scene. Meet the cast and how humble they can be being in a Shiver and Fear original! What kind of fun did these teens have while skiing over the spring break?
Well you might find out just by watching the video. Recording this adventure was not easy. It was only a 4 day trip and the skiing didn't start until day 2. Not to mention with all the pre-scheduled event for the trip squeezing in filming time was difficult. But what was hard after getting home?
Well, crazy story. So Isaac Grave (a.k.a.) Jeff Davis was only available on Sunday. Which, if you don't know, that's church time. I was a part of the church choir and Isaac had to leave first thing afterwards. So the only time to film was DURING church time. But things kept getting in the way. Isaac would show up late, I would have other responibilities at the church, or even we had other plans.
What was even more challenging was getting to interview the cast. If you notice not everyone got the same questions. There's another story.
Just know, me and the cast all come together at different days of the week. Some show up on Sundays, some on Wednesdays. But we are always together at the church.

The Finished Work

It's finally happened, Shiver and Fears new book, Terror Tales 2 has been released in hard copy. Meet are stars of this book

Hard to see, I know, but these kids are the winner of the Shiver and Fears contest! As you remember, Shiver and Fears took 7 stories from 3rd graders and placed their titles into the book. There is actually 8 3rd graders, however our 8th chacter had to play a different part in the story.
While each kid had their own story which interfered with one another our 8th character, Jalynn was the start of it as her story explained how the whole story was put together! So why wasn't she placed in the photo? Well, the truth is Shiver and Fears was only taking 7 stories, but Jalynn's class only had small limit of 3rd graders. With the 7 already chosen, Jalynn's class would have been the only forgotten group of the school. We didn't want to  exclude a class just for their number of students. So the idea was to slide in her story, while telling the others... Think of it as a commercial break.
Well these kids were fanatical when given their copy. Made a few jealous faces. Now, it's only going to get better. This new book will be the first Shiver and Fears book located in a school library! Only thing is, it'll be a total different book set.
Each Shiver and Fears book includes a illustrated cover. Not this one. Since the illustration for this book is late, the book had to be published without it! But a good Shiver and Fears book can not to presented without a good cover. But until the cover has been created the finished book is unable to be published.
That would come to the new partner of Shiver and Fears books, Cameron Dunk. When will he artwork come?
We still await the answer!

Becoming Legends

It's been a wild adventure for these 7 kids. They are nearly out of the school year and have accomplished so much. More than a few others.
If you haven't yet, meet the amazing 3rd grader from Shiver and Fears: Into the Legendary Store:
Mya Ivory
Carter Fuller
Aria Wilson
Cristal Lopez
Angelique Boyd
Nhayla Garcia
 and Jacob Huerta
Although Shiver and Fears books had been published based on real people, such as The Secret Saturday featuring Trey Hardwick, No Body Park, featuring Kyle Massey and Boys Don't Play with Dolls featuring Michael Maw. So what makes this book so different?
This is Shiver and Fears first contest that has reached over 100 pair of eyes and ears. What does that mean? For one thing, this contest actually included readers at the proper age Shiver and Fears books is made for. Secondly, I was able to gain interest to more people.
I feel that this book might have reached out to more readers than what is questionable on social media.
This is what these kids had to say to show it:

Why did you enter this contest?
This question was asked because nearly every 3rd grader was interested, yet only a few of them turned in a sheet. These are the answers that were given:
Nhayla Garcia: Wanted to write my own book, if I didn't win.
Aria Wilson: It's cool! Books are cool, I love to read.
Angelique Boyd: I like reading books
Jacob Huerta: Don't have a reason
Mya Ivory: Wanted to be noticed by others around me
Carter Fuller: To show it to my family
Cristal Lopez: Not sure why

How did you feel knowing your book is good enough for a book?
The kids' titles were not handpicked. It all depended on the first and last name. So what word best show how much they appreciate being picked?
Nhayla Garcia: Had some doubt
Aria Wilson: Confident
Angelique Boyd: Happy
Jacob Huerta: Excited
Mya Ivory: not sure
Carter Fuller: Proud
Cristal Lopez: Felt Good

Are you interested in reading Shiver and Fears books?
Being placed in a book is one thing, but will these kids spread their interest farther?
Nhayla Garcia: yes
Aria Wilson: yes
Angelique Boyd: yes
Jacob Huerta: yes
Mya Ivory: yes
Carter Fuller: yes
Cristal Lopez: yes

Would you like to learn about the other events Shiver and Fears offers?
I've explained how I am always coming up with something for fans to include themselves into. such as the bookaversary, give-a-ways, and the Get Monsterfied Contest. Would these kids want to try?
Nhayla Garcia: yes, it may require hard work, but I enjoy reading
Aria Wilson: yes
Angelique Boyd: yes
Jacob Huerta: maybe
Mya Ivory: don't know
Carter Fuller: yes
Cristal Lopez: yes

Is there a chance you'll be entering Shiver and Fears contest next year?
These 3rd graders will be moving up a level to the 4th grade. I might be making another contest at some point. Are they willing to go for another round of excitement?
Nhayla Garcia: yes
Aria Wilson: yes
Angelique Boyd: yes
Jacob Huerta: yes
Mya Ivory: yes
Carter Fuller: yes
Cristal Lopez: I don't know
What will Shiver and Fears provide next year? There's no plan just yet, but I'll know who to turn to when I do!

Shiver and Fears New Book

So Shiver and Fears JUST finished another book. This is the 2nd Terror Tales book written for 8 characters. The book was written to explore 3rd grade kids and their interest in writing. The new Terror Tales: Into the Legendary Store was created to give young readers a feature in the power of creative writing.
After making the choice of the 7 best story titles. I wrote the story best to fit the title. The hardest one, I think was The Masked Giant. This was a challenge because the title already reveals the plot. Not to mention there is not a very good plot twist that can lead into a giant wearing a mask. The reason why this book was chosen, was because of the challenge of coming up with a plot. This will show kids that no matter what a story is behind a title.
Into the Legendary Store has been published but only as a preview edition. This gives our 3rd graders a view of the book before it's officially ready. The reason for this is that although the book is done, there is no cover illustrated for it. When will the cover be ready? Not even the Shiver and Fears artist: Cameron Dunk knowns. But what is important is that the book get done for future projects such as the book written by multiple other 3rd graders called What a Story!
This book will feature the creative minds of the rest of the 3rd graders who didn't get into the Shiver and Fears novel.
So far The Whispering Box, The Little Neighbor, and The Whispering Monster are the only stories written for the next project What a Story! So although this book will feature a small amount of students tales, it'll also feature artwork based on the tales too. (Once again, made by 3rd grade kids)
When will these books be ready? And what kind of stories are we looking at? It's a surprise, even I don't know!
